City Hall Accessibility
GENEVA, NEW YORK
The City of Geneva identified “equity” among its core values as part of its 2017 Comprehensive Plan. To City leadership, this meant that all residents should be able to access local facilities, including City Hall.
City Hall is an early 20th century facility, with upper floors that are not accessible to those with physical disabilities.
The SmaterLocalGov team identified Community Development Block Grant funds to support the addition of a modern elevator and other accessibility improvements throughout the historic building.
Our team researched funding opportunities, developed the grant application, and is supporting grant compliance efforts.
Frontenac Park Waterfront Access
UNION SPRINGS, NEW YORK
The Village of Union Springs has long worked to support a vibrant waterfront along Cayuga Lake.
The Village has developed numerous recreational amenities in its public park on the lake, and as the community developed as a destination for boaters in the region, the Village sought to expand boat-driven amenities.
SmarterLocalGov team members identified the State’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program as a funding opportunity for the project.
Our team conducted grant research, developed a successful application, and is currently working with the community on grant administration activities.
